Within the English Speaking Club for senior students of the Financial-Legal College, six online meetings were successfully held as part of the Rule of Law academic initiative. The meetings took place on Wednesdays and were conducted remotely via Zoom, ensuring active participation and accessibility for students.
The sessions were organized within the COMBINED LAWW 56902-002 – Rule of Law Colloquium, taught by Christopher Kelly. Each meeting focused on developing students’ professional English communication skills while discussing key legal concepts related to the rule of law, democratic values, justice, and legal institutions.
Throughout the six meetings, students engaged in:
• interactive discussions and debates on rule of law principles;
• analysis of real-life legal cases and contemporary challenges;
• improvement of legal vocabulary and academic speaking skills;
• development of critical thinking and argumentation in English.
Overall, the series of meetings proved to be highly effective and valuable. Students enhanced their language proficiency, deepened their understanding of the rule of law, and gained meaningful experience in academic discussion in English, which is essential for their future professional development in the legal and financial fields.
